Tier 1 Investor

The following information is given in order to provide you with a generalised overview of the criteria required for the Tier 1 (Investor) visa. The Tier 1 (Investor) category is for high net worth individuals making a substantial financial investment in the United Kingdom, The visa will initially be granted for three years and four months.

In order to obtain entry clearance within Tier 1 (Investor) the migrant must score 75 points for Attributes. To obtain the 75 points, the migrant:

1. Must show money of his/her own, under his/her control, held in a regulated financial institution and disposable in the United Kingdom amounting to no less than £1 million; or

2. Must own personal assets which, taking into account any liabilities to which they are subject, have a value exceeding £2 million; and the migrant has money under his/her control held in a regulated financial institution and disposable in the United Kingdom amounting to no less than £1million, which has been loaned to him/her by a UK regulated financial institution.
