More Fixed Fees

My last blog was about the continued push for fixed fee arrangements from clients with specific reference to Australia following the US clients lead on this topic so it was interesting to note a follow up article talking about how the majority of Chinese and Indian state owned enterprises (SOEs) also demand a fixed fee from their legal advisors. Apparently up to 85% with the Chinese based SOEs so given the dominance of China this really does seem to be the way of the future.  I wonder if with the demise of timesheets recruiters will see more lawyers returning from in-house to private practice….
