Sydney
Sydney is the largest City in Australia offering a variety of employment opportunities for legal professionals. Many are attracted to the busy city lifestyle with a high earning potential. The City itself is set on one of the most beautiful harbours in the world with surrounding beaches only 10 minutes or so outside of the main CBD.
Melbourne
Whilst Melbourne is not as large as Sydney, it does offer a slightly different lifestyle. Most people find that Melbourne is very "European" and a lot of ex-pats tend to settle there. With the bustling nightlife including a whole gamut of restaurants and bars as well as being the main shopping mecca of Australia, Melbourne is a very appealing City in which to live and work. Many of the CBD law firms seek employees with international experience as Australia has strong ties to the Asian and International markets.
Brisbane
Brisbane offers a much more laid back lifestyle. With the Queensland beaches and Barrier Reef on your doorstep, it is a fantastic quality of life. Brisbane is a busy City and is fast becoming a location of choice for those who like to to embrace the work/life balance. Most of the top tier law firms have offices in Brisbane so this is a very attractive place to work and allows employees to continue to develop their legal career. On occasion the chance for employees to move internally, whether it be for professional gain, or just personal circumstances is also offered.
Perth
Perth offers an attractive lifestyle for many people. With a population of 1.8 million in and around the City of Perth, great lengths have been taken to make sure that there is plenty on offer to keep you entertained including beautifully maintained National Parks, historic heritage buildings and some of the most stunning beaches along the West coast.
Adelaide, The Northern Territory and Canberra are all fast developing markets for lawyers and secretaries alike. A number of National law firms have offices in these locations and in some instances, the 3 States have a head office with a smaller office within the Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane markets.
