David joined the recruitment industry back in 2004, spending the majority of his career focusing on the Sydney market. He has primarily specialised in permanent recruitment for Business Support staff across a variety of industry sectors, including the professional services market.

He enjoys the fast pace of the recruitment industry and is in his element when it comes to building long-term relationships with his clients and candidates, many of whom he has worked with over numerous years.

Joining the GR Law team in early 2011, David focuses on permanent recruitment in our secretarial team. Prior to this he has managed a boutique generalist agency and has enjoyed great success recruiting within the support arena.

Nicole Garrett has recently joined GR Law in their Sydney office. Nicole will focus on recruiting Lawyers with a primary focus on Private Practice in Australia, ASIA & UAE.

Nicole qualified as a lawyer in 2000 , throughout university she worked in a well regarded mid tier firm in Insurance Litigation. On completion of her studies Nicole relocated to London commencing her Legal Recruitment career with a boutique Agency specialising in assisting Antipodean Lawyers relocate into the UK market. After 10 years in London Nicole returned to Sydney market at the end of 2009 and has spent the last 12 months at a large Legal Recruitment specialist focusing on the local Sydney market.

Nicole recruits all levels of lawyers, including partner level.

As Australia and New Zealand’s Managing Director, Amanda leads the strategy and overall management of both operations. She has a hands-on focus, playing a key role in staff management and retention and is a key driver for the culture and philosophy of the Australasian business.

Amanda is a member of the RCSA and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She holds over 16 years' recruitment experience spanning from London to Australia and more recently New Zealand.

Amanda is well known in the market place for providing an honest, friendly and professional service to both clients and candidates alike.

Alessyn has been with GR Law since May of 2011.  Hailing from the USA, she relocated to Sydney in 2009 after earning a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art and Philosophy.  Alessyn is responsible for temporary recruitment for our Clients and Candidates alike, and specializes in a variety of roles including Legal Secretaries, Reception, Accounts, Administrators, Legal Typist, and Facilities Staff.

Alessyn enjoys managing the exciting and fast-paced desk and interacting with a myriad of personalities weekly.  She looks forward to cultivating her natural talent and transferable skills in order to build on GR Law’s precedent of excellent service to current and perspective clients and candidates.

Russell Martin

With over 16 years’ experience in the London Secretarial and General support markets, Russell is one of the most experienced consultants in the Sydney and London industries today. Over the years he has experienced both in-house and agency recruitment and has developed a broad range of clients from boutique to international banks and law firms, Russell is able to offer excellent, consistent and reliable advice to both candidates and clients alike.

Russell Joined GR law in 2001 and is well known amongst our clients and candidates for his consultative, enthusiastic and honest approach.

Russell moved to the Sydney office in January 2011 and now specialises in the recruitment of legal support staff for the Middle East and national Australian clients.

Shelly Rule

Shelly Rule has recently joined GR Law in the Sydney office. Shelly will focus on recruiting lawyers for in-house legal departments across a variety of sectors.

Shelly qualified as a lawyer in 1998 working in commercial litigation with a well-regarded mid-tier Sydney firm and moved into legal recruitment in 2000. Shelly has handled assignments for both private practice and in-house clients over the years but particularly enjoys partnering with corporate clients. She has worked in Australia, the UK, Asia and Europe with leading international recruitment consultancies recruiting at all levels including General Counsel and entire legal teams.

After graduating from the Arts University College at Bournemouth, where he studied BA (hons) Arts and Event Management, James started his own boutique events management company. In late 2009 James decided he needed a change, and planned a move to Sydney stopping off in south east Asia along the way.

James began with GR Law in September 2010 where he now works on the permanent secretarial team alongside line manager Laura Galvin. He applies his management, negotiation and people skills which he developed as an event manager to legal recruitment. James is dedicated to client and candidate care, supporting them every step of the way in helping them achieve their ultimate career goal.

Kristie commenced working with GR Law early in 2011. With over 8 years’ experience as an Accounts Clerk and Book keeper she has become a valuable employee of the GR Law team.

With her eye for detail and problem solving skills Kristie has been very successful in achieving the goals she has set. She has a very approachable personality and is happy to help out wherever she can to ensure a smooth running of the office.

Karyn started at GR Law in March 2010, initially as the Recruitment Administrator and was then promoted to Office Manager.

Coupled with a Business Administration certificate, Karyn also has many years of high level administration experience and has worked with in numerous industries of varying sizes. She has worked with many high profile clients, which allows her to deliver the best of the best service to clients and candidates.

Karyn’s main role at GR Law is to ensure smooth running of the office and provide team support to the Consultants.
